CARE x Citizens UK Anti-Racist Listening Campaign Final Assembly

The final instalment of the Collective Anti-Racist Efforts (CARE) x Citizens UK Listening Campaign will be held on 28 June, 12.30pm-1.30pm.

Following on from the first Loughborough Anti-Racist Leadership Training in Summer 2021, training participants delivered a Listening Campaign, engaging more than 100 colleagues and students, many of whom had not been involved in prior anti-racist action at the University.

From these conversations three high priority areas stood out that correlated well with the LU Race Equity Strategy and the Race Equality Charter, for which the University recently received the Bronze Award:

  • Our culture and the 'Lboro family'
  • Anti-racist education for white people
  • Sanctioning racism and reducing harm

At this Final Assembly the Campaign Co-Chairs, on behalf of the Campaign Participants, will present a set of priority action areas to Richard Taylor, COO, speaking on behalf of the University’s senior management team. He will reflect on the accomplishments of the campaign and its participants, reaffirm commitment to building an anti-racist university, and reflect on what is currently being done, what else is possible, and what cannot be taken forward and why.

Please register to join either in person at James France CC.0.13 or via Teams. It will also be recorded for later viewing.
