Armed Forces Day: Saturday 25 June 2022

Armed Forces Day is an annual event to commemorate the service of those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces. This includes currently serving troops, service families, veterans and cadets.

Loughborough University is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and is committed to supporting the Armed Forces Community by recognising the value serving personnel (both Regular and Reservists), veterans and military families contribute to the University and our country.

The celebrations began on Monday 20 June 2022 when the Armed Forces Day flag was raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country.

Charnwood Borough Council has organised a range of entertainment and attractions to recognise our Armed Forces between 10am-3pm this Saturday 25 June 2022 in the Market Place. As it’s market day, traders and local businesses will also be getting involved. There will also be vintage vehicles on display, face-painting, and the Veterans Breakfast Club will be serving refreshments and cakes.

Loughborough University’s Armed Forces Network Group provides a forum for those who have served in the Armed Forces and their family members.

Find out more about the group and commitment the University has made to the Armed Forces in the Covenant.
