Support for students experiencing distress from global issues

Hopefully you are all now settling in, or settling back in, to life at Loughborough.

We are very aware that some of our students will find the present situation very difficult to deal with. You may be concerned by the impact of Covid-19 across the UK, or you may be worried about what is happening in other countries across the world right now. We are, for instance, very mindful of the current unrest in Lagos and the potential impact this is likely to have on our Nigerian student population.

We know that different students will have different concerns, and the support they require to help them cope will vary. Please be reassured that we are here to help. We have a range of services available – please do get in touch with them if you feel you would benefit from some support.

  • Your academic School and personal tutors are available to help, and Loughborough Students’ Union’s Welfare and Diversity team can also offer guidance or someone to talk to (Email: welfareeo@lsu.co.uk).
  • Further details of all these and the other support services available to you are on our website.

We will keep you up to date regularly with any developments at the University. For instance, we know some of you will be keen to find out about our plans for the weeks approaching the Christmas vacation so you can begin to think about your travel arrangements. As soon as we have confirmed the details, we will let you know.
