The Studio is the graduate programme of LU Inc, the University’s business incubator which brings together graduate and academic entrepreneurs with founders from across the region and beyond to create a rich and supportive start-up community.

Part of the Loughborough Enterprise Network (LEN), the Studio is designed to give graduates the best possible environment to launch their business and watch it fly.

Studio members benefit from:

Co-working – Access to a fully-serviced, flexible workspace at LU Inc. including power and superfast broadband or the option to ‘go virtual’
Training and events – Monthly events and expert-led training programme

Coaching and Mentoring – Leveraging University and industry support

Network connections – Referrals and introductions across our community

Virtual learning – Virtual training events and resources so you can learn when and where you like
Access to funding – Support with applications to LEN’s Start-up Fund (grants of up to £5,000 for recent graduates of LU)

Profile raising – opportunities to raise the profile of your business through our networks

LU Inc is located on campus at LUSEP, the University’s Science and Enterprise Park.  It has supported 70+ graduate companies and 90+ entrepreneurs to create over 100 jobs, 68 volunteers, and 20+ internship opportunities.

2019 Sport and Exercise Science graduate Tiffany Afflick and qualified nutrition advisor joined The Studio to launch The Cooking Yam, a food and health blog, sports nutrition and recipe development service.

“Becoming a member of The Studio has given me the confidence and connections needed for me to take my business to the next level,” said Tiffany. “The first 12 months after graduation was a crucial period in the development of my business, and during this time The Studio  provided me with a dedicated workspace, access to financial support, and countless opportunities to develop my business skills.”

Pete Hitchings, Incubator Manager, encourages anyone who’d like to find out more about the Studio programme to get in touch:

“Founding a business is hard work. Being around other people on the same journey can help. The Studio offers a unique opportunity to take that step in a supportive environment.

“And, if setting up a business isn’t something you’re considering, but you’d like to flex your entrepreneurial muscles, there are plenty of other ways to get involved with the Loughborough Enterprise Network. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch.”

The application deadline is midnight on 2 August 2020.
