Performer at Speech Bubble

LU Arts hosting poetry night

On 2 March, Speech Bubble will return to campus for a night of performances from professional and amateur poets alike.

Run by LU Arts scholar, Emma Ames, the event will take place in Cognito, 7.30-10pm and will welcome two professional poets – Hannah Swings and Casey Bailey.

Hannah Swings was recently the face of the Nationwide Building Society’s TV campaign and Casey Bailey performed the BBC’s Peaky Blinders recap.

There will also be an open mic portion of the evening. Anyone wanting to perform their own poetry can contact luarts@lboro.ac.uk to register their interest.

Event organiser, Emma said: “An evening dedicated to enjoying the power and beauty of language. This is a great night for everyone who loves poetry and performance.”

Emma is a Creative Writing and Spoken Word scholar, and alongside organising Speech Bubble has also founded the Loughborough Literature Society.

More information on the event is available here.
