Heart 2 Heart wins top accolade at 2019 CASE Awards

Heart 2 Heart has won the highest accolade, a Platinum Award, at this year’s Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Circle of Excellence Awards.

The Platinum Awards recognise the ‘best of the best’ in educational advancement globally. The Loughborough campaign received the top honour in the Best Practices in Communications and Marketing category.

Heart 2 Heart was also awarded gold in the category Strategic Communications: Public Relations & Community Relations Projects, and silver in the Special events: single day category.

TheLoughborough University, Loughborough Students’ Union and British Heart Foundation joint initiative trained over 1,400 staff, students and members of the public on how to perform CPR in just twelve hours.

The training took place across multiple locations on the University campus and was supported by volunteers from the East Midlands Ambulance Service, certified first-aiders and University staff and students.

Heart 2 Heart – which took place on Valentine’s Day - not only raised awareness of the vital work of the British Heart Foundation, but it also aimed to bring the East Midlands’ cardiac arrest survival rate of 1/18 in line with national average of 1/10.

Judges said that ‘Heart 2 Heart is an outstanding campaign that created an immediate, impactful connection to the University's local community and also positioned the University nationally’.

Over 2,800 entries were submitted for the Circle of Excellence Awards from across the world. Heart 2 Heart was one of only eight selected for ‘Platinum’ recognition.
