Last week to apply for warden positions

The University is delighted to be advertising three warden posts for various halls of residence at Loughborough.

The roles will be based at Cayley Hall, David Collett Hall and the new Claudia Parsons Hall, all of which are for undergraduate students.

Wardens are responsible for the wellbeing, health and safety and discipline of students in halls and also fostering the community spirit of their hall with the help from a team of sub-wardens.

They are required to work closely with the Hall Committee throughout the year to ensure the hall is an inclusive and welcoming environment to all students.

Those who are interested should be educated to a degree level and working in an academic or academic-related position at Grade 6 or above, with experience of working with students in an educational, guidance or supportive capacity.

The role requires skills such as being a team player, being well-organised and having an ability to exert discipline when necessary.

Cayley is a catered hall located in the student village with 329 bedrooms, and the postholder will begin from the start of the summer term this academic year.

A warden will also be required from the end of the summer term for David Collett, a catered hall with over 320 bedrooms.

The final post will be based at the new Claudia Parsons hall, which is self-catered and will accommodate over 480 students. As this hall is still under construction, a warden would not begin their duties until the start of the 2019 autumn term.

Those who are successful are required to live in the warden accommodation on campus, which is provided as part of the role alongside an honorarium of £8,091.

The deadline for applications is Monday 21 January, with interviews taking place on Monday 4 February.
