A student based within Loughborough’s Design School has been announced the winner of Best Student Project at the 2018 User Experience UK Awards.

Juan Encalada, who has recently finished studying a master’s in User Experience Design, was given the award for his design project Aer.

Aer is an app designed to help inexperienced parents collect and understand data about their new baby to reassure them during the child’s infancy.

The judges – who are industry experts in the digital, research and UX sectors – loved the overall goal of his app and were impressed with the presentation.

Five of the six shortlisted student projects were students from Loughborough University, signifying the incredible work produced by students from the University.

The other students shortlisted for the award were Linda Young, Yuqi Wang, Samah Zaatari and Xingcheng Zhu.
