Loughborough’s Emma Leech confirmed as 2018 President-Elect of Chartered Institute of Public Relations
Emma Leech, Loughborough's Director of Marketing and Advancement, will become President-Elect of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) next year.
Founded in 1948, the CIPR is the Royal Chartered professional body for public relations practitioners in the UK and overseas. It is the largest membership organisation for PR practitioners outside of North America. By size of turnover and number of individually registered members, it is the leading representative body for the PR profession and industry in Europe.
The CIPR advances professionalism in public relations by making its members accountable to their employers and the public through a code of conduct and searchable public register, setting standards through training, qualifications, awards and the production of best practice and skills guidance, facilitating Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and awarding Chartered Public Relations Practitioner status (Chart.PR)
The CIPR President acts as the Chairman of the Institute and the representative of the public relations profession in the UK. CIPR members elect a President-Elect every autumn who succeeds to the Presidency after one year.
Emma joined the Institute in 1996 and became one of the UK's first Accredited PR Practitioners in 2005. She was awarded Fellowship of the CIPR in 2009 and was named CIPR/Institute of Directors PR Director of the Year in 2012.

Emma will succeed Sarah Hall, Chart.PR, FCIPR as President of the CIPR in 2019. Sarah will take over from the current President Jason MacKenzie Found.Chart.PR, FCIPR next year.
