Loughborough University announces arrangements for Special Projects Fund

Loughborough University is welcoming bids from community groups across Charnwood for its annual Special Projects Fund.

The Special Projects Fund is one of three rounds offered by the University as part of its Community Donations Fund programme. The fund is designed to support projects that are ‘one off’ or ‘special’ in nature. Bids should be submitted by Monday 6 March 2017.

A maximum of £15,000 is available per year and bids between £5,000 and £15,000 will be considered.

Capital and/or revenue projects, including staff posts will qualify for funding but bids to support general administration are not considered appropriate for this fund. Bidding organisations must be non-political in nature and based in Charnwood.

Last year, the Special Projects Fund supported John Storer House through the fund to help them improve and modernise their lift service to ensure visitors using the building could access and use the lift with ease.

Thorpe Acre Residents Association were also supported through the fund to purchase and create a new community hub in Thorpe Acre.

Bids should be submitted by Monday 6 March and sent to Kristy Diaz (k.diaz@lboro.ac.uk). For further information or to download an application form, please click here.
