Net Zero Knowledge Exchange Live Lab for final-year PhD students and Postdocs

Hosted by C-DICE, this hands-on training by research training experts Code Switch Consultants helps net zero early late-stage PhD students and career researchers turn their work into real-world impact through active knowledge exchange (KE). Rather than just talking about KE, participants co-create the session with expert facilitators and peers, modelling collaboration in real time.

The training explores how KE enhances research quality, builds networks, and boosts visibility. Attendees tackle a live net zero challenge with an industry partner, gain practical skills to engage beyond academia, and learn to design impactful KE activities. Grounded in the UKRI KE Framework, the session offers tools and insights to influence policy, practice, and innovation.

C-DICE are especially keen to welcome a diverse mix of disciplines and perspectives – from social scientists and geographers to engineers and environmental scientists. If you’re curious about how your work can influence policy, practice, or innovation, and whether you’re new to KE or looking to deepen your impact, you’ll gain confidence, clarity, and a toolkit to help your research go further.
