Festival of Creative and Digital Methods Taster Series: Autoethnographic Approaches
Following a successful Festival of Creative and Digital Methods conference on 21 January 2026, the Enhanced Academic Practice (EAP) team and School of Social Science and Humanities (SSH) would like to invite colleagues to join their Online Interactive Taster Series. Hear from a range of academic experts from EAP and SSH to enhance your knowledge of innovative research methods.
In this session, Victoria Wright (EAP) introduces autoethnography as a research approach making direct reference to the development of her Doctorate in Education thesis (2016, University of Birmingham) and a more recent application of symbiotic autoethnography within a collaborative autoethnographic publication (International Journal of Lifelong Education, 2025). She will provide a stimulus for reflection and provide methods to adapt the approach to fit your own teaching and/or research goals.
