Participants needed for a study on learning and vehicle technology

We’re looking for drivers aged 18 to 80 to take part in a short PhD research study exploring how people engage with information about advanced vehicle technologies.

We are researchers from the Transport Safety Research Centre at Loughborough University, and we are conducting a PhD research study titled 'Evaluating the Influence of Different Information Formats on Learning Advanced Automotive Technologies.'

We are inviting participants to take part in a short online study focused on how drivers process information related to new vehicle technologies.

In this study, you will:

  • Choose one format: video, audio, or text
  • Complete a brief semi-autonomous driving simulation
  • Answer a few follow-up questions

The study takes about 15–20 minutes, is anonymous, and can be completed online.

At the end, you may enter a £10 Love2shop voucher prize draw (optional).

Eligibility:

  • Ages 18 to 80
  • Some experience driving a car (for personal or work use)
  • Access to a computer or tablet (please avoid mobile phones)
  • Able to see, hear or read clearly
  • 15–20 minutes available and internet access
  • Important: This study has three online versions. Please only complete one. If you have already taken part in another version (online or in-person), please do not participate again.

We are particularly interested in hearing from drivers aged 60 and above. If you know someone in this age group who might be eligible, please feel free to invite them or share this link with them.

Take part in the survey.
