The awards began in 2005 to celebrate the people who show outstanding dedication and effort across the University and the Students’ Union.
This year's winners were announced at a ceremony on 3 June. This event was a chance for staff, students and nominees to celebrate together and show their appreciation for the winners and our University community.
Two award winners shared their thoughts after the ceremony:
On winning the University Staff Member of the Year award, Reverend Elizabeth York, Lead Chaplain, commented: “I was surprised and humbled to be nominated for this award and enjoyed spending the evening alongside other amazing student and staff nominees and winners. I’d like to say thank you to the students who voted for me, and to all the staff of LSU who made the evening so special.”
On behalf of the International Student Experience (ISE) team, Tim Hewes-Belton, ISE Manager, celebrated winning University Team of the Year: "We're delighted to receive the LEA for University Team of the Year. What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it comes from our students, who are at the heart of everything we do. I'm incredibly proud of what the team has achieved this year and grateful to the many colleagues across the University who work with us to support and enhance the experience of our international students."
