Upcoming events programme for LGBT+ History Month 2026

February is LGBT+ History month, and the LGBT+ Student Association and LGBT+ Staff Network have come together to organise an array of activities open to students, staff and the general public.

This year’s theme for LGBT+ History Month 2026 is ‘Science and Innovation’. It’s a chance to remember and preserve the legacies of LGBT community members and their impact in understanding the world around us. You can read more about the month, its theme and its importance on Stonewall’s website.

The University is hosting a range of events available and you can access the full list of events on the LGBT+ History Month events page. Below are some of the key events being held:

  • LGBTQ+ Art Exhibition: Beyond the Binary, Innovation without Limits: 10 February - 10 March, Weekdays 12pm-2pm, Martin Hall Exhibition Area
  • Colloquium on LGBTQI+ Research: Sharing, Supporting and Sustaining our Current and Future Research: 11 February, 1.30pm-5pm, Brockington
  • LGBT+ History Month: Hazlerigg Illuminations: 23 February, 5pm-6pm, The Lounge (Students’ Union)
