Calling all Part B students: Need advice on where to look for a placement, or how to nail that interview or application? The Careers Network and School Placement Teams are here to help prepare you for the next stage of your student journey.

Whether you’re considering taking a placement year, aren’t sure where to look for opportunities, need guidance on the practical processes or would like help with your applications, interview or assessment centre preparation, both teams are on hand to provide bespoke support.

There are also plenty of events and opportunities to network with employers who are actively seeking students for placement roles.

The Target Connect Events schedule includes a variety of upcoming employer activities you can join in person and online, from placement student panels to mock assessment centres.

Early Futures workshops also offer a unique chance to get practical experience and helpful tips for placement applications and interviews.

The Student Success Academy provide peer-to-peer placement mentoring to support you at all stages of your journey into industry. You can also find broader advice and vacancy webpages on the Careers Network website. They also offer On Demand courses, useful interactive resources to help you plan your professional development, level your Microsoft Office skills and offer invaluable tips and tricks for all stages of the application process.

If you accept an unpaid placement, you can always apply for the Loughborough Bursary for Unpaid Placements to gain additional financial support from the University during your year in industry.
