This affects devices running on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Although the issue is not unique to InDesign, this is the only product we are aware of being affected.
As Architecture and Design students are the primary users of this software, we deployed an update to computer labs LDS011 and KGB on Tuesday, 3 February, which should mitigate the issue in these labs.
From Wednesday, 11 February, IT Services will be deploying an update to all University computers (staff-managed devices and computer lab service machines) to address the issue.
The rollout will take approximately two weeks, and we expect all University computers to be updated by the end of February.
Recommended action
For use of Adobe InDesign on personal devices, we suggest installing the Windows February Cumulative Security Update once it becomes available to your device.
If you encounter the issue, you can copy the InDesign file to a folder that isn’t cloud synced and work on it from there. On a lab machine, copy the file to the desktop. Be sure to save the file regularly and copy it back to the cloud once you are finished, and ensure it has synced before logging out of the machine.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
