The annual programme, which will take place from Monday 9 November to Friday 20 November 2026, enables members of the University community explore sustainability, share ideas and inspire positive action across campus. Organisers are now inviting submissions from staff and students who would like to deliver an event as part of the programme.
Whether it’s a sustainability topic you’re passionate about, research you’d like to showcase, or connections with an external speaker, organisation or community group, there are a wide range of opportunities to get involved.
The Sustainability Team is keen to hear ideas for activities that engage and inspire the University community. Possible events include:
- Talks and guest lectures
- Workshops
- Panel discussions
- Research showcases
- Nature walks
- Volunteering activities
- Swap shops
- Quizzes
- Film screenings
You do not need to be part of a sustainability-focused team, society or network to submit an idea; proposals are welcomed from all staff and students.
Those interested in organising an event do not need to do so alone. The Sustainability Team can provide support in a number of areas, including:
- Promotion and communications,
- Event planning and logistics
- Event delivery support
- Funding requests, where appropriate.
As part of the proposal process, you’ll be able to tell us what support would help you deliver your event. The Sustainability Team will work with successful applicants to agree the most appropriate support based on the event requirements and available resources.
The deadline for event proposals for Sustainability Fortnight is Friday 18 September, 5pm.
