Through facilitated small-group conversations, we’ll have the opportunity to share experiences, hear different perspectives and explore opportunities to strengthen how we work together across the University.
Earlier this year, our Chief Operating Officer, Richard Taylor spoke about the financial challenges facing our University and the changes needed across Professional Services to ensure our long-term sustainability. Through the Professional Services Forums that followed, he also committed to creating opportunities for us all to contribute our experiences and ideas to thinking about how we work together in the future.
Professional Services - Working Better Together is the next step in that conversation.
Why are we doing this?
The way we work at Loughborough crosses School, Service and team boundaries every day. How work flows between us, the processes and systems we rely on, and how we bring our different skills and expertise together all shape how effectively we can get things done.
Across our university, we have a huge amount of knowledge, experience and expertise to draw on. These sessions are an opportunity to bring those different perspectives together, understanding what already helps us work well, where things get in the way and where we could work differently.
This is also an important part of strengthening our collective Colleague Voice. Through the Staff Experience Survey, we know how important it is for your views and voice to be heard. These sessions provide an opportunity to turn that feedback into action, bringing together our experiences, perspectives and ideas to help shape how we work together and deliver our University Strategy, Creating Better Futures. Together.

No specialist knowledge or preparation is needed. The sessions are about sharing our experiences and perspectives of how work happens in practice.
Although the focus is on how Professional Services work across our University, all colleagues are welcome to take part.
