The visit was part of a high-profile benchmarking tour, for which Loughborough University was chosen alongside University College London (UCL) and the University of Warwick, highlighting our international reputation for excellence in postgraduate education.
It was an excellent opportunity to highlight Loughborough's success stories in research, innovation and industry collaboration. The University team, led by Dr Kathryn North, Director of the Research Academy, with support from members of the Senior Leadership Team as well as colleagues from the Doctoral College, hosted the event and shared key insights into our postgraduate programmes and partnerships. The delegates also received a warm welcome from the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nick Jennings.
There were discussions about the University’s Research and Innovation team, including ongoing research activities and Loughborough’s Centres for Doctoral Training. These conversations highlighted the University's strategic approach to global collaborations and Doctoral training, alongside showcasing some of our excellent facilities with a tour of the University Incubator and Intelligent Energy at the University’s Science and Enterprise Park, LUSEP..
The successful visit was facilitated by partnership development manager, Dr Ofonime Udoudo, and Dr Dowon Bae from the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, who is also a member of the Korea Technology Advisory Group (K-TAG).
This engagement is expected to significantly strengthen our ties with prominent South Korean institutions and open pathways for exciting future collaborations for both researchers and students.
