Update: Intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity issue - 21 October

The root cause of the intermittent Wi-Fi connection issue has now been identified and is a result of a significant increase in the number of devices being connected to the campus network. IT Services are working closely with our supplier, Cisco, to review and implement a long-term solution to ensure continued stability of the network.

Configuration changes made previously have had a positive impact on the network stability, and the situation continues to be closely monitored.

Known issues

Users may experience some Wi-Fi connectivity delays in the largest lecture theatres. Typically, more densely populated areas have 6-8 Access Points (AP), which during peak times typically see up to 1,000 devices attempting to connect at the same time.

If you do experience connectivity issues, we recommend that you email it.services@lboro.ac.uk with a description of the issue encountered, location, device type, and include the subject of 'eduroam connection issue'.
