The winning proposal will not only be brought to life with full support from LU Arts, but the creator will also receive a prize of up to £250, along with a £150 production budget to help deliver the workshop.
Proposals must consider the sustainability of the workshop itself, including material sourcing, waste reduction and energy usage.
Workshops can be held indoors or outdoors and may incorporate existing campus features such as gardens, woodlands, Fruit Routes, recycling stations, or sustainable transport facilities.
What can I win?
If you choose to run your own session, you’ll receive a £250 prize, plus a £150 budget and guidance to help you deliver it.
If you prefer to focus on the concept, you can propose someone else to lead the session. In this case, you’ll receive a £100 prize and LU Arts will cover the cost of the workshop leader.
Who can enter?
The competition is open to all Loughborough students, including postgraduate students (taught and research). Research students are welcome to propose a workshop relating to their research.
Joint entries are allowed, although the prize money would be shared. Joint entries with people who are not Loughborough University students are allowed, provided all entrants are 18+.
Submit your proposal via the online form by Friday 6 June 2025, 5pm.
If you’re looking for some inspiration, come along to ‘Ecological Creativity: A Restorative Workshop’ on Wednesday 21 May, 1pm-2pm, at the Collaboration Station in Loughborough Students’ Union.
During the workshop you can create your own dream or eye pillow using a mix of herbs and soft fabrics. Bring an old cotton garment or use the materials provided. The workshop is free, but places must be booked in advance via the LSU website.
