The team plan to run the campaign in the run up to COP30 to highlight the University’s expertise in areas such as climate change and sustainability by securing coverage with national and specialist news media.
The aim of the campaign is to raise the University’s reputation in these areas and spotlight how Loughborough research is helping achieve global goals – such as the UN’s SDGs and the 2050 net zero target. At a time when misinformation is widespread, it is also crucial that journalists can access credible sources and expert voices to drive informed public discourse.
The PR team is eager to hear about a wide range of activities including (but not limited to) upcoming research papers, fieldwork, visual experiments/testing, video ideas, and proposals for expert comment and discussion pieces.
We would also be keen to hear any ideas or interest in getting involved in The Conversation. They’ve recently called for expertise and stories relating to the scientific wonders happening in your garden and for their Plant Curious series.
