Share your collaborative research ideas for the latest Research Ideas Catalogue – Knowledge & Impact (RIC-KI) competition

The Research Ideas Catalogue - Knowledge & Impact (RIC-KI) - the collaborative research platform from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences – is running a new round of its popular competition for the best new research ideas submitted from Loughborough University researchers in the broad themes of health, wellbeing and sport.

There are three prizes available for ideas which demonstrate innovation: a £100 voucher for the best idea and two at £50.To enter the competition,complete the online form by Friday 16 February and you will be automatically entered.     

The RIC-KI website details a range of topical and innovative research ideas that Idea Inventors wish to share with the worldwide scientific community as potential collaborative research projects. Potential research collaborators then complete the online expression of interest form and the RIC-KI support team connect both parties.  

The RIC-KI platform now has approaching 400 members from 140 institutions in 37 countries and welcomes researchers at all career stages from universities and other organisations around the world. 

A range of research ideas ready for collaboration can be viewed on the RIC-KI website where you can also sign up for a free account. If you would like to discuss your idea or find out more about RIC-KI, contact the team by emailingric-ki@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk.      

  • Ideas must be submitted by 11.59pm (GMT), 16 February 2024
  • Ideas can also be submitted via email to ric-ki@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk upon request  
  • Winners will be informed by email from the week commencing 26 February 2024 
  • Prizes will be distributed within one month of the winners being announced  
  • The competition is open to Loughborough University (including Loughborough University London) academics, researchers and doctoral students  
  • A maximum of two ideas can be submitted per person; further ideas can be listed on the RIC-KI website but will not be eligible for the draw
