Reverend Elizabeth York being appointed as a Chaplain at Loughborough University

New Lead Chaplain commences role at the University

Earlier this month, Reverend Elizabeth York started her role as Lead Chaplain for the University Chaplaincy.

Elizabeth was licensed for this role by The Right Reverend Martyn Snow, Bishop of Leicester, in a service of Morning Prayer at Bishops Lodge in Leicester last week (9 January 2024).

In the photo, Elizabeth is stood with Ven David Newman, Professor Neil Budworth (Director of Health, Safety and Wellbeing), the Bishop of Leicester, the Archdeacon of Loughborough, Ven. Claire Wood and members of Elizabeth’s family and friends.

Elizabeth commented: “I am excited to be here and have been enjoying meeting people and beginning to get to know the University. I am looking forward to working collaboratively with fellow chaplains, other colleagues, and students on our Loughborough and London campuses to develop provision for the spiritual care of people of different faiths and worldviews. I also want to ensure all staff and students continue to have access to the best possible pastoral care.”
