Many colleagues will remember Andy as the Director of Staff Development, a role which he held for many years until his retirement. Prior to this, Andy was a lecturer in Economics and Social History at the University within the Economics Department.  

He was known for his charismatic skillset, having held the roles of the University’s Public Orator for graduation ceremonies when awarding honorary degrees, as well as being the Master of Ceremonies for the University Choir’s concert, of which he was a long-term and well-loved member of.  

Our sincere condolences go to Andrew’s family. We know that many colleagues on campus knew Andrew well and our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. 

The funeral will be held at Loughborough Crematorium at 12.30pm on Thursday 18 January, with a wake taking placing at Longcliffe Golf Club in Nanpantan afterwards.
