Now, just a couple of months on, more than £9,000 has been raised thanks to kind and generous donations from over 100 people.

By giving together, our alumni and supporters have really made a difference, and the donations will help one deserving Loughborough student throughout their studies.

Beginning in October 2024, the student will receive £3,000 per year for three years of study. This vital funding will support this student throughout their academic years at Loughborough.

The financial support will lessen the worry of the costs associated with attending university, regardless of their personal circumstances. The money will help with things such as living costs and purchasing any materials or equipment that they need for their course.

The student will join a cohort of Opportunity Scholars who are supported by a range of philanthropic donations. This academic year a further 50 scholars joined the programme, supported by individual donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate organisations.

The team is continuing to receive gifts towards Opportunity Scholarships and is working to raise further funds to support more Loughborough students.
