Please note the remainder of this article features sensitive content referencing sexual abuse and violence.
The University is aware that sexual abuse and violence can happen in any environment and can impact any member of our student community. We wanted to remind our community of our dedicated website which has content to inform, educate and support staff and students on matters linked to consent, sex and relationships. It features a range of articles about what consent is; information on resources and support services for someone who has been subjected to sexual violence; as well as the impact of committing sexual violence.
It also includes a statement from the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nick Jennings.
More information about University support
At the University, we have a team of experienced advisors who are here to provide responsive and timely support to students who have experienced any form of sexual violence. The Duty, Assessment and Inclusion team can offer emotional and practical support through private, 1-1 appointments and they work closely with external agencies including the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) and the Amber Project within Living Without Abuse (LWA) to refer students for any appropriate long-term support.
If you would like to talk to a member of the team, access any of the support mentioned and/or report an incident, please contact the team by emailing DAI@lboro.ac.uk or calling 01509 227615. They are available to speak to Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. Alternatively, you can complete the University’s online reporting tool.
The University’s Security team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 365 days a year. They can be contacted on 01509 222141, or just flip over your Student ID card to find the number to call them. As well as looking after students' safety, they also investigate complaints made about the conduct of students both on and off campus. When an incident has been reported, one of the team will contact you and discuss the incident. They will advise you of your options, which include support with reporting to the police or having the University investigate further.

Consent Collective is an online platform dedicated to supporting, educating and raising awareness of consent, relationships, and sexual harassment.
All Loughborough students and staff can access Consent Collective TV – which is made up of five ‘channels’, tailored depending on what you’d like to watch. Consent Collective covers points relevant to navigating your way through studying and life at university, especially when impacted by relationship abuse or sexual harm.
Staff and students can sign up to the platform using their University email address. Please note your account is confidential so the University will not know if you have signed up.
You can also engage in other awareness campaigns such as ‘You’re Right, That’s Wrong’ and Enough.
