The annual award recognises hard work and contribution to postgraduate marketing campaigns, a value-added initiative or successful wellbeing programme at an institution. The SSN has been shortlisted for its inclusive and engaging approach, offering doctoral researchers diverse monthly book selections based on member voting. The club enriched academic and personal growth by fostering a supportive environment that combines intellectual exploration and social interaction.
Artemi Tonikidou, who runs the book club, said: “I am truly honoured by SSN book club's shortlisting. This recognition highlights Kieron Lintott, Taisiia Stankevych, and my commitment to fostering a supportive space where researchers can connect, exchange ideas, and explore a diverse range of books. Our success reinforces our commitment to building a vibrant community beyond academic discussions and fostering meaningful connections.
"This achievement will undoubtedly inspire greater participation from researchers and the broader Loughborough community. I want to express my gratitude to the Doctoral College for their support, and I warmly invite everyone to join us on this enriching journey!”
The winner will be announced on 6 September 2024.
