Sir Peter Bonfield to give a lecture as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series

Loughborough Business School will welcome alumnus Sir Peter Bonfield to give a lecture to staff and students on the future of globalisation and free trade.

"From western driven globalisation and free trade to a western drift to protectionism and fear of the growing eastern powers. Is world trade derisking or decoupling and the potential impact on businesses and economic growth. One view of the impact on the semi-conductor business as an example."

The event will be held on Thursday 9 May in the James France building, room CC012. Refreshments will be served from 5.30pm, with the lecture starting at 6pm.

Sir Peter Bonfield is a leading International Business Executive with extensive experience in the fields of electronics, computers, and communications. He has been involved with a diverse portfolio of companies operating at main Board level in the USA, Europe, and the Far East.

He is a Fellow of several professional bodies, including the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Royal Society of Arts. He is a graduate of Loughborough University with a degree in engineering, as well as an honorary doctorate of technology from the institution.

Sir Peter was appointed as Chair of Loughborough University Council and Senior Pro Chancellor in 2012 and has overseen some of the University’s most significant achievements.
