University appoints new Lead Chaplain

The University is pleased to announce that the Reverend Elizabeth York will take up the role of Lead Chaplain in the University Chaplaincy from 4 January 2024.

She holds an MTh (Theology, Chester), with a first degree in music (Nottingham). Before Elizabeth was ordained, she was a teacher, working across all key stages and tutoring PGCE students.

Two of her three children are currently at University - one as a postgraduate researcher and one as an undergraduate - so she has some very personal insights into university life.

Elizabeth commented: “I am very much looking forward to joining the University and working collaboratively with fellow chaplains, other colleagues, and students at Loughborough to develop provision for the spiritual care of people of different faiths and worldviews.  I also want to ensure all Loughborough staff and students continue to have access to the best possible pastoral care.”
