Committee positions open for the University’s women’s staff network

Maia has a number of positions available on the committee, open to staff across the University.

You can apply for the following positions:

  • Two Co-Chair positions: Maia is no longer specifically recruiting for one Academic and one Professional Service co-chair; however, they still want academic representation so encourage any academic staff to apply
  • Academic Voice: This is open to both RTE and SSA staff
  • Doctoral Researcher Voice

The full role descriptions are available online.

Maia will be holding two open sessions for anyone who may have questions or want to find out more about joining the committee before applying:

Charlotte Croffie, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion commented: “Staff Networks are valuable and meaningful spaces for our staff.  They provide the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of areas that you may have an interest in. They can also be great places to meet with people, to share ideas, network, learn, gain additional skills and are one of the ways you can feed into the broader EDI agenda at the University.

“We actively support our staff to engage in these networks which are created by you and run by you for your membership/allies. I encourage you to actively participate in the networks and the work they do.”

The deadline for submissions is 5pm, 24 November. Submit your Expression of Interest.

If you would prefer to access a hard copy of the form that can be posted/dropped off to Hazlerigg, please email maia.network@lboro.ac.uk. Colleagues are also welcome to submit their EoI in a non-written format for accessibility reasons and just need to contact maia.network@lboro.ac.uk to advise of the format.

What will happen next?

For the position of Co-Chair:

Once applications close, the Expressions of Interest will be circulated to Maia members for voting. Each Maia member will have one vote and will also have the option to vote for ‘Reopen Nominations’ if they do not think any candidates are suitable.

For the position of Academic Voice and Doctoral Researcher Voice:

Once applications close, the expressions of interest with be reviewed and decided by a sub-group of the Maia Committee.

If you have any other general queries regarding any of the above, please direct them to maia.network@lboro.ac.uk
