Loughborough appoints new Director of Global Engagement

Loughborough University is delighted to announce that Lily Rumsey has been appointed as Director of Global Engagement.

Lily will be joining from the University of Bath where she is currently Director of International Relations. Lily has worked in Higher Education since 2009. She is currently studying for her Professional Doctorate in Education EdD at the University of Nottingham, investigating the Saudi student experience and the role of UK HE institutions. Her thesis is entitled ‘Saudi women’s experience of a UK Higher Education utilising the Capability Approach.’

Lily will join us in June and in this new role will lead Loughborough’s ambitious plans to further advance its international engagement and impact as set out in the new University strategy, Creating Better Futures. Together.  

The role reports to the Director of Marketing and Advancement (M&A) and will also be responsible for overseeing the Global Engagement team which sits within M&A. 

Speaking about the appointment Loughborough’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nick Jennings, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lily to Loughborough. This exciting senior leadership role will be crucial as we look to make a step change in our international aspirations by building strategic partnerships, growing our global community and further strengthening our reputation overseas. Lily brings considerable experience across a broad range of internationalisation activity and will make a significant contribution to our work in this important area.”
