Human vision / computer vision – making sense of art

Loughborough University is hosting an international symposium - Human Vision / Computer Vision: Making Sense of Art - on 24–25 November.

Dr Kathryn Brown is hosting the hybrid event - which is generously supported by The British Academy.

The focus of the two-day, interdisciplinary gathering is the use of computer vision in art analysis.

The speakers – international experts spanning art history, computer science and philosophy – will explore what computer vision brings to art history and how it potentially enhances or problematises human vision.

They will also consider the new analytical possibilities computer vision offers and what issues it may cause for art historians.

All staff and doctoral researchers are very welcome to join this symposium – either in person or online.

Review the symposium programme, and register for the event.
