From 8am-1pm there will be some disruption to the eduroam Wi-Fi and wired networks while the work is being carried out. Staff accessing services through these networks will be affected, this includes remote desktop connections to local devices.
Locations with smaller networking requirements will witness less impact however network disruption will be at risk during the scheduled upgrade hours.
*If you are aware of any business-critical work that may be affected please contact the project team as soon as possible*
We are recommending colleagues work remotely or from an alternate location on campus on the day of the changeover to minimise the impact they experience.
Following the upgrade, If you previously connected a personal laptop or computer to the wired network, you will be required to register your device to connect to the new network – please visit the Network 2020 project webpage ‘Post upgrade’ tab.
For regular updates including confirmed dates, notice of completed works, and FAQs, please visit the dedicated Network 2020 project webpage.
If you have any general queries regarding these works, please contact the IT Service Desk. For discussion regarding an upgrade in a specific location please email the project team Network2020@lboro.ac.uk
*A further reminder notification will be sent one week before the planned work date.
