Students: Apply now to be LU Arts’ Speech Bubble Coordinator for the 2020/21 academic year

Speech Bubble is LU Arts’ performance poetry event that combines student spoken word performances with that of a professional poet. Each year we appoint a student with an interest in event organisation and a passion for performance poetry to deliver two events.

As the Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for programming and marketing the events, as well as liaising with LSU Tech over any technical requirements. The successful candidate will receive mentoring and practical support from Kerry Featherstone, Lecturer in Creative Writing, and the LU Arts team.

These events normally take place in early December and mid-March.

What do you get in return?

You’ll be given a £400 fee to organise and deliver these events. Furthermore, you’ll gain valuable skills in events organisation and marketing that will support your employability. It’s also a lot of fun, and maybe you will even get to invite your favourite poet to the event.

Loughborough London students will have their travel expenses reimbursed for travel to the Loughborough campus.

Who can apply?

This role is open to all current students from either of our campuses, including PGT and PGR students. It does not matter what course you are studying either.

How do I apply?
