Staff notice: University heating

In line with the University Heating Policy, the heating services for accommodation, academic and sports facilities are being re-energised on a priority basis starting week commencing 28 September.

All heating should be fully operational for the new academic year starting week commencing 5 October.

Due to the size of the heating systems, it may take longer for certain areas to get up to full operating temperature and during this transition period we ask that if you are on campus you dress accordingly for the conditions.

To reduce the risks associated with COVID-19 and to comply with Government guidance, mechanical ventilation systems across the campus will be operating on full fresh air mode, this may mean some buildings will feel cooler than normal.

When you return to the campus please remember, unlike at home the heating cannot be adjusted to suit individuals needs and you will need to ensure you dress to suit your personal comfort levels.

Any operational issues relating to the heating system should be reported via the Estates and Facilities Management Helpdesk by emailing fmhelp@lboro.ac.uk or calling 01509 222121.
