A day in the life of a Doctoral Researcher

The Doctoral College will be hosting an interactive half-day online event on 16 November from 10am to 1pm, providing insight into the Doctoral Researcher experience.

Those who support and represent Doctoral Researchers at Loughborough University and Loughborough Students' Union are welcome to attend.

The event aims to tackle questions about the nature of the research done, the contributions made and the challenges faced by Doctoral Researchers. There will be a range of presentations by current Doctoral Researchers and Doctoral College staff as well as activities to enable attendees to discuss, reflect and plan.

Event organiser, Dr Katryna Kalawsky commented: “At Loughborough University we have approximately 1,400 Doctoral Researchers based in all academic Schools. However, the doctoral journey is not always well understood by those who support/represent these students.

"The aim of this event is to demystify the doctoral experience so that those supporting students can consider ways in which to make their provision more inclusive and tailored (where appropriate) for Doctoral Researchers.”
