The University’s Inside Out fund supports 10 local groups

The 2019/20 round for the Inside Out fund has awarded 10 Charnwood groups with funding for projects that will benefit the local community.

A full list of the recipients are as follows:

Organisation

Project

FC Seagrave

Securing a new place for the toddlers group to play and new equipment for the older groups.

Elevate Elite

Funding will go towards the purchase of a foam vaulting module to develop their gymnastics programme.

The Junction Church

Funding towards the cost of the St John’s Ambulance at their kids summer camp.

SRK Community Project

Re-vamping the interior of the community centre to make it brighter.

Passion

Cover the cost of hot drinks for children on their way to school.

Holywell PSA Pantomime Group

Purchase of new flats, backdrops and paint to update their pantomime sets.

Wymeswold Play Area Committee

Funding towards the repair of the local play area.

Barkby United Cricket Club

Investing into the women’s section of the club with training, equipment and measures to make the club more inclusive.

Dishley Park Run

New walkie-talkies to ensure quick communication between all volunteers – making the events run smoothly and safely.

1st Nanpantan Scouts

Moving towards more sustainable options with the purchase of low energy lights, solar chargers and rechargeable battery parks for camping activities.

Chair of the University Donations Fund, Jon Walker said: “We have enjoyed hearing about many of the wonderful projects going on in the local community where staff at the University are involved, and we are delighted to be able to support these 10 groups in their work.”
