On Friday 24th May, Loughborough Lightning will welcome Strathclyde Sirens onto campus as part of their 2024 Netball Super League campaign.

Lightning Netball are taking on the challenge of retaining their 2023 Netball Super League title and need your support. Come down to Sir David Wallace and #BringTheNoise!

    Real Living Wage and changes to salary scales

    Loughborough University is an accredited Living Wage employer. The real Living Wage will rise to £12 per hour and will be paid from 1 April 2024. Although discretionary and non-contractual, this reflects our commitment to fairness and supporting colleagues who may be particularly impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.

    Is the shine coming off Japan’s bullet trains?

    Just ten days before the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, Japan opened its Tōkaidō Shinkansen, a high-speed rail line connecting Tokyo with Osaka. Shinkansen bullet trains showcased the high quality of Japanese railway technology to the world, with trains travelling at up to 285 km/h (177 mph).
