Book Club: The Girl Who Smiled Beads

About this event

Join staff from Pilkington Library for the University Book Club's discussion of Clemantine Wamariya’s memoir about her experience as a childhood refugee from Rwanda, written alongside Elizabeth Weil.

Content note: this book contains themes of war, violence and trauma. (Please note that content notes are based on information available online.)

Access to the book

The Library has a subscription to Libby, the leisure reading app widely used by public libraries.
To get started, simply download the Libby app and sign in using your University credentials.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store, or from a link on the Libby homepage. You can also access Libby on your computer’s web browser. When first setting up your account you will need to be on campus or on the VPN.

Through Libby, the Library have purchased an ebook of 'The Girl Who Smiled Beads', though, unfortunately due to licencing restrictions, it’s one user at a time only. An audiobook has also been purchased with one user at a time access.
