World AIDS Day Vigil

World AIDS Day is a global movement to unite people in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Since 1988, communities have stood together on World AIDS Day to show strength and solidarity against HIV stigma and to remember the lives of those lost.

The University will mark the date with a vigil at Hazlerigg Fountain, an opportunity for the University community to come together for quiet reflection and to remember the lives of those lost to HIV and AIDS.

The service will be led by Elizabeth York (University Chaplain), Denise Coles (EDI Services) and Stevie Ashurst (LGBT+ Staff Network).

If you feel moved to share a few words, a reading or a reflection during the vigil, please do. Your contributions will help make this moment of remembrance truly meaningful and reflective of the voices and experiences within our community.

All Loughborough staff, students and members of the local community are welcome to attend, regardless of religion or belief.
