Morning or evening person? Join our study on exercise, inflammation, & appetite.
The study aims to find out how your body's natural sleep-wake pattern (chronotype) modulates the impact of 30 minutes of moderate exercise, performed either in the morning or afternoon, on inflammation levels and appetite regulation.
Inclusion criteria
- Men and Women (Women on hormal contraceptives are welcome)
- Age: 18-45 years
- BMI: 18.5-29.9 kg/m2 for white Europeans; 18.5-27.4 kg/m2 for other ethnicities
- Non-smokers
- No underlying health issues
- Free from any injuries that limit your ability to exercise
Participation involves
- 3 visits (around 2.5 hours/visit) in National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine
- Body composition assessment
- One morning exercise trial and one afternoon exercise trial
- Blood samples via cannula for inflammatory and appetite markers
- Consumption of muffins
What you can get
- Information about your body composition, physical activity level, sleep, fitness (VO2max), blood profile
- We provide free muffins during each visit
