Road and access closures
The pedestrian access off the A512 Ashby Road onto Margaret Keay Road (near to the Cayley hall of residence) has been closed for now to allow preparatory work for construction traffic. This is the safest way for construction vehicles to enter the campus and ensures that disruption to Epinal Way is kept to a minimum. Once the preparatory work on this route is complete, we will review whether there is scope to permit safe pedestrian access again.
Car parking
The short stay car park at the swimming pool can now be used by staff for more than two hours (it remains restricted to two hours for visitors).
The temporary car park located on the former John Clements site, next to Matthew Arnold, will be closed for the foreseeable future from Friday 6 February. The use of this car park will be reviewed in the spring once the weather improves and the ground has had time to recover.
The Ann Packer temporary car park (adjacent to the Design School) remains open – staff using this area must enter and exit as per the signage.
The Multi-Storey and Holywell Car Parks always have capacity.
