Open to everyone aged 18+, including students, staff and members of the public, Speech Bubble offers an inclusive space to enjoy live poetry and performance. Whether you’re performing or simply coming along to listen, it’s a great opportunity to experience the power of words and creativity in a supportive environment.
The event will take place in Loughborough Students' Union from 7pm and will feature a headline performance by poet, musician and literary reviewer, Rebecca 'Bep' Summerscales.
Rebecca is currently based in Nottingham, they were Nottingham Slam Champion in 2024. Their first book, Panopticon, was published in December 2025 and is a collection of poems about trauma and abuse.

Open-mic slots are open to all Loughborough University students and staff of all abilities. The deadline for registering your interest via a short online form is 5pm on Monday, 23 February.
