Have your say: REF Code of Practice Consultation

Loughborough University is developing its Research Excellence Framework (REF) Code of Practice, which all UK Higher Education Institutions participating in the REF are required to produce. The Code of Practice sets out how the University will make robust, transparent and inclusive decisions about its REF submission, including the selection of research outputs.

Creating the Code of Practice provides an opportunity to share information about elements of Loughborough’s REF submission and to invite feedback from staff. The REF Code of Practice consultation period will run from 2 March to 3 April 2026.

During the consultation, staff will be able to submit feedback anonymously via an online form or in-person/online at a Code of Practice hybrid briefing session hosted by the REF team. Hybrid drop-in sessions will also be available, with further details to be shared soon.

Hybrid briefing sessions:

  • Thursday 5 March, 10.30am-12.30pm, James France CC021 and online via Microsoft Teams. Book your place.
  • Monday 9 March, 1.30pm-3.30pm, Sir Frank Gibb RT033 and online via Microsoft Teams. Book your place.
