Kitting Out is an important milestone in the journey to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games for athletes and support staff. Over 450 athletes and staff will be provided with kit supplied by Kukri, including village, training, and competition wear.
The event will be the first time the delegation will come together ahead of travelling to the Games. All selected athletes will have the opportunity to attend an in-person Kitting Out experience to try on their kit and take away their bags the same day.
Kitting Out will be held on campus, with the Sir Denis Rooke Building being transformed to house a showroom, athlete lounge space and warehouse.
Student and staff volunteer opportunities are available from 8 to 22 July 2026. You will need to be available for two consecutive days.
Volunteer roles include:
- Warehouse Assistant
- Personal Shopper
- Front Of House Assistant
In line with the University’s policy to offer staff one working day each to undertake approved volunteer work, it has been agreed, with line manager approval, that two volunteer days can be taken for this opportunity.
To apply for this opportunity, please complete the application form by Friday 6 March.
