Too often, we detect and treat diseases only when people start showing symptoms. Yet diseases like dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke often start in the body long before symptoms are detectable.
Our Future Health volunteers share information about their health and lifestyle, helping researchers to better understand how diseases develop and how we can treat them earlier. Over 2.5 million volunteers have joined the programme so far, and more are joining every day.
If you join, you will have the chance to find out more about your health now, including your blood pressure. You will also be offered a £10 voucher to recognise the time and effort of volunteering.
How to take part
It’s quick and easy to join:
- Read and sign a consent form
- Answer some online questions about yourself
- Attend an appointment to provide a small blood sample and have some physical measurements taken
You can book an appointment at Shirley Pearce Square online. There will also be a limited number of walk-in appointments available on Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 March from 11am to 6pm each day.
