- The short stay car park at the swimming pool can now be used by staff for more than two hours (it remains restricted to two hours for visitors).
- The temporary car park located on the former John Clements site, next to Matthew Arnold, will be closed for the foreseeable future. Despite every effort to improve the condition of the car park, the ground has become too soft, and the continuing wet weather means it can no longer be used. For this reason, we have taken the decision to close the area from Friday 6 February. We will review the use of this car park in the spring once the weather improves and the ground has had time to recover.
The net impact of these two changes are that we have more spaces than before.
Additionally:
- The Ann Packer temporary car park (adjacent to the Design School) remains open – staff using this area must enter and exit as per the signage.
- Staff who have flexibility in their arrival times are encouraged to consider using the Multi-Storey and Holywell Car Parks, where there is always capacity. This will help free up spaces in the higher demand areas for colleagues who have tighter time constraints.
- For colleagues who work flexibly and usually attend campus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, consider adjusting this pattern where possible. Parking availability is significantly better on Mondays and Fridays.
