A great new student accommodation addition

Architectural rendering of a new student accommodation on campus with trees alongside it and people walking past.

The central part of the University campus will start to look very different within the next few weeks, as the hoardings are erected around the site for the brand-new student accommodation development.

The hall of residence will be the first to be built on campus for nearly seven years and will be an amazing addition to the University’s suite of managed accommodation. It’s a huge investment in the Loughborough Student Experience and will help to cement Loughborough’s status as one of the UK’s very best universities.

The development will provide 552 en-suite bedspaces across five blocks, offering self-catered, en-suite facilities with shared study and social space. The blocks will be set within beautiful, green surroundings that include a plaza and a landscaped square. All within easy access of key University facilities, such as the Edward Herbert Building, the soon-to-be completed DigiLabs Central, the Library, Powerbase and the Students’ Union.

We know that where you live and the facilities you have on your doorstep are important parts of your university life. Hall life can foster a real sense of community and belonging, helping you to build friendships, networks and connections that last through your Loughborough years and beyond. The new accommodation will expand your options for hall living.

The plan is for the accommodation to be open for the 2027/8 academic year. So, students on campus today, as well as those who’ll be joining us in the next couple of years, will have the chance to live in the fantastic new accommodation. Our Student Accommodation Team will let you know when you can apply to live in the new hall!

We’re still thinking of a name for the new hall. So, if you’ve got any suggestions, let us know! Drop us an email at notifications@lboro.ac.uk.
